GIA Introduction to the Big Three: Rubies, Sapphires, and Emeralds Seminar
What are the three most famous gemstones in history? Why do these gemstones captivate the human imagination? Rubies, Sapphires, and Emeralds, or the "Big Three" as they are popularly referred too, are undeniably the most favorite gemstones for over a thousand of years. In this seminar GIA instructors will teach how to tell the difference between these three stones, as well as go into further detail about the folklore and scientific properties of each gemstone. Participants will use microscopes to study each gemstone up close, learning for example how to tell the difference between a pink sapphire and a light red ruby. Though they are widely known, the "Big Three" still has much to share and this seminar provides an excellent introduction into the colorful world of Rubies, Sapphires and Emeralds!
