Debbie Li

Debbie Li graduated from Sheffield Hallam University, where she received her BA Honours in Jewellery, Materials and Design. She has always been focusing on kneading different elements in contemporary design. Her designs fuse with various materials, from valuable gemstones to sustainable materials, particularly fascinated by the unique natural beauty of the baroque pearl. She interprets the nature aesthetic concept in her jewellery designs. ‘My jewellery creations are exquisite and detail-oriented but without over polishing the items,’ she says. ‘To keep the raw textures of materials, metals and the goldsmith's production, that breaks away from traditions and presents the individual design style.’

Working hands-on with one-of-a kind pieces and various materials, S Li gained an understanding of the complex process of creating her unique, wearable works of art. As a Chief Designer at a fine jewellery business, she collaborates with many skilled jewellers in the industry enriched her background and knowledge exponentially.

She was an open group winner of the Best of Show Award and several Merit Awards in the 17th and 18th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, held by HKTDC. After that, she studied abroad in Tokyo, at Hiko Mizuno College of Jewellery, sponsored by Hong Kong Japan Business Co-operation Committee. And her jewellery collections were also exhibited in the Basel World Watch and Jewellery Show 2016.

She has always dreamed of starting her own design business, and in 2022 she realized she had the opportunity to make the dream come true. S Li envisioned her brand Mssli Collection, to make those who love vintage, edgy and casual daily fashion jewellery feel special or even just to spice up the wearer’s chic personality.
