Introduction to Contemporary Jewellery Seminar


This seminar will explain what is Contemporary Jewellery and how this term has come to define a specific  jewellery genre from the 1970s onwards. The tutor has professional knowledge in jewellery making and academic experinece in communicating this vast topic in interesting ways with lots of colorful photos and key jewellery designers to recognize and know. Participants will leave with a much better understanding of what is contemporary jewellery, as well as have fun insights into this design aesthetic and industry.

About the speaker

Lydia Siu  

Born in USA and raised in Hong Kong, Lydia Siu's designs echo her own multi-cultural upbringing and the exotic integration of grandiose Eastern and Western concepts and ideologies. Working with the likes of the internationally renowned Vivienne Westwood and Stephen Webster, the Jewellery design company heralded for its cutting edge and remarkable designs, Lydia's career flourished. Lydia graduated from the MA Design: Jewellery at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, and is Gemological Institute of America (GIA) qualified in Graduate Color Stones and Pearl Grading.
