Yoyo Chung completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Jewellery and Silversmithing in Birmingham City University in 2018. During her studies, she discovered the passion for the craft. She has developed her specific design style with the skills, experience and knowledge. Being in the world with environmental destruction and extinction, she is inspired by the nature organism.   Yoyo believes every jewellery pieces are meaningful. People wear jewellery to commemorate their marriages or ceremonies. She enjoys listening the stories behind jewellery, not only about the history of owners, but also the great effort of those craftsman.   To strengthen her bench skills, Yoyo always takes different metalsmith courses. Though the lessons, she extended her technical skills in craftsmanship, across a wide array of different metals. She enjoys fabricating a jewellery piece from beginning to end. Making from saw piercing, soldering, filing, setting and finishing. Yoyo believes laying the foundation of metalsmith will help her to be a jewellery craftsman.  Yoyo won the Poppy Brooch Design Competition in 2018, organized by The British Royal Legion. It is a British charity providing financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants. And her design was manufactured for charity sale.

RESIDENCY PROGRAMME

Loupe's Design Residency Programme is a comprehensive mentoring programme with industry experts from the established Chow Tai Fook Jewellery, specially created for jewellery designers who wish to elevate their career and skills to the next level. During the period of mentorship, designers-in-residence can expect to develop their skills and capabilities in jewellery design in the fully-equipped environment at Loupe.
