Tony Yeung

CYNTHIA LUI

Yeung Ka Kit graduated at Hong Kong Baptist University Academy of Visual Arts and obtained the Certificate of jewellery making and production at Hong Kong Design Institute. He pays attention to minor details and finds ways to transform them to highlight their aesthetics via his practice of metalsmithing. He is also interested in waste objects, ceramics, stones and glass.

As a vegetarian, and environmentalist, Yeung sees value in all objects, including insignificant waste, which he finds intriguing to re-propose them to regain attention, or even surpass their original value. In the past Yeung has experimented with rubbles of construction waste, converting them into fashionable jewellery, hoping that jewellery can be the way people incorporate these reborn objects in their daily lives.
